The young soloist Dimitris Soukaras combines in his program the old with the modern, melancholy with brilliance, thoughtful expressiveness with virtuoso skill. His selections compose a musical landscape rich in narratives, which alternates between three different versions of the guitar: the romantic, for the lute transcriptions of works by Dowland and Bach, the classical, for the works of Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Asentio, and the electric for Leo Brower. With elite studies at the Royal Academy of London and years of apprenticeship with great teachers, the award-winning guitarist and composer combines the sweeping vigor of his age with a deep knowledge of an instrument that belongs to multiple musical worlds and always sparks the imagination for new creations, such as Brower's "The Circle of oracle".
